1. Vehicle Parking
- Do not park your vehicle in areas prone to flooding, such as underground parking garages, basements, or low-lying locations.
- Whenever possible, park on higher ground and keep the vehicle away from large trees or structures that may collapse during severe weather.
2. Battery Charging
If you must leave the vehicle in an area that may be affected by flooding:
- Reduce the battery State of Charge (SOC) to below 30%, if possible.
- Disconnect the charging cable completely.
If you anticipate evacuation or need to travel:
- Charge the battery to 100% to ensure sufficient driving range for emergency relocation if needed.
3. Driving During Heavy Rain or Flooded Conditions
- Avoid driving through flooded roads or standing water whenever possible.
- Before driving through any water-covered road, carefully check the water depth. The water level must not exceed the vehicle's ground clearance.
- If driving through shallow water is unavoidable, drive slowly (below 10 km/h / 6 mph). Driving too fast can create a bow wave in front of the vehicle, allowing water to enter the motor controller and other critical electrical components, which may result in the vehicle becoming inoperable.
- Do not park or reverse in water under any conditions.
- Reduce speed, maintain a safe following distance, and remain alert for road hazards during heavy rainfall.
4. If the Vehicle Has Been Flooded
If your vehicle is suspected to have been exposed to floodwater:
- Do not attempt to start or charge the vehicle until it has been inspected by qualified technicians.
- If it is safe to do so, move the vehicle to a well-ventilated outdoor area at least 15 meters (50 feet) away from buildings or other structures.
- Lower the windows, if possible, to help ventilate the vehicle.
